In addition to our custom equipment, we have many other services and products in our line up. In 2008, we had been following the new course in automotive forward lighting testing towards “Performance-based Testing”. Being able to test a vehicles headlamp aim and performance while on the vehicle had been achieved with limited success in the past. However, with the advent of newer CCD-based camera’s and faster computers, actually testing of the forward lighting has become affordable and accurate.

STS has created the “VOA-100” system that can measure the forward lighting performance and aiming in just seconds. The system is able to record the beam pattern from 20 degrees left and right, 10 degrees up and down. Total luminous flux, beam maximums, and preliminary compliance with FMVSS108 standards can be evaluated without separating the headlamps from the vehicle under test, and the testing is done in the ‘real world’ situation of being on the actual vehicle.
