At Sapphire Technical Solutions, we manufacture goniophotometers in-house and can customize elements to meet our customer's needs. We can alter the structural dimensions of the machine, within reason, as well as certain automation features.
Sapphire currently manufactures several Type A goniophotometers: AP-80HD, AP-60HD, AP-48SD, AP-24SC. However, due to their flexible capabilities and ability to provide highly efficient testing solutions across multiple industries the AP-60HD (Heavy Duty) and AP48-SD (Standard Duty) are the two most common. These goniophotometers utilize the same software, however they differ in the size and weight of the lighting fixtures that they can test. The AP-80HD holds larger and heavier fixtures, while the AP-60HD and AP-48SD have a more compact design and smaller space requirements. We work with our clients to assess needs and space constraints prior to suggesting which machine is best for their application. All Sapphire goniophotometers are designed to be fully upgradeable, so as lighting technology and testing methods change and evolve, so can our clients.

AP-60
The AP-60HD is the main component of an automated photometer system. It is a heavy duty automated machine capable of positioning a 60 inch lamp and testing fixture. The automated photometer system accurately measures:
SAE, ECE, JIS, FMVSS108, TSD108 (Canada), and other automotive exterior lighting regulations
Forward lighting, signal lighting, retro-reflex and other custom testing
Commercial Lighting with optional mirror for Type-C testing
FAA and ICAO aerospace and airport lighting regulations
Beam distributions and bird’s eye plots for beam pattern analysis
User’s ability to create custom testing requirements
Networking and Data Storage using .html and .pdf formats for simple file retrieval and sharing
Optional Modular Room and Vertical Tunnel for production floor installations
AP-80
The AP-80HD was developed for our customers with larger fixtures and lamps than previously seen in the automotive industry. It is capable of all industry testing. With a full 80” clear turning diameter, this machine has all the functionality of the AP-60HD but adds the ability to test larger parts. The AP-80HD is the only machine in the industry capable of testing parts requiring additional space and testing clearance.

AP-48
The AP-48SD is the standard duty photometer system and smaller version of the AP-60. It is an automated machine capable of positioning a 48 inch lamp and testing fixture. The automated photometer system accurately measures:

Forward lighting, signal lighting, retro-reflex and other custom testing

AP-24
The AP-24SD is the smallest of the goniophotometer machine designs. The AP-24 is the primary component of an automated photometer system. It is a standard duty automated machine capable of positioning a 24 inch lamp and testing fixture. The AP-24SD is easy to set up in temporary workspaces so that engineers or smaller facilities can utilize shared spaces for smaller product sizes. Additionally, this system is ideal for LED modules and other lighting components tested separately from their larger final lamp assemblies.
